This luxury one bedroom studio cottage on a working farm combines comfortable accommodation with the rural charm of country life. A private patio and lawn has uninterrupted views across the farm down towards the sea and the distant flash Bardsey lighthouse. Internally, modern facilities sit along side some of the original features of this converted stable. The convenience of modern living with echoes of the past.

A stone step from the patio leads guests into an open plan living area. Tall vaulted ceilings and whitewashed walls give a great sense of light and space. Exposed stone around the original windows and a hardwood floor provides that feeling of character and quality. To the right of the room the living area includes a luxurious leather sofa which sits in front of a lovely living flame fire mounted on a welsh slate hearth.

To the left a modern fitted kitchen includes a combination oven, electric hob and dishwasher. A traditional welsh dresser sits along side the kitchen housing the blue china that is so popular in so many welsh homes. A small dining table and chairs sits in front of a deep set window with that fantastic sea view.

The style and character of the living room continues through into the bedroom. Again, deep set windows provide some great views in the morning when you throw the curtains open. A comfortable king sized bed and general peace and tranquillity ensures a good nights sleep. The adjoining en-suite bathroom is immaculately decorated and houses a simple white bathroom suite including a large shower cubicle with power shower.

Stabal-Byrdir is one of three cottages set within an old stable block on the farm but a well thought out layout ensures each cottage has its own private access and garden area. Stabal-Byrdir’s garden, arguably, having the best view of the three. There are lots of walking routes right from your front door and some wonderful sandy beaches just over a mile away.

The farm itself is located a mile above the village of Dyffryn Ardudwy. There are two small cafes in the village. also a very good butchers, Spar shop, post office and garage so all the essentials are covered. For a wider range of shops and restaurants guests might want to travel 5 miles south to the popular seaside town of Barmouth. 5 miles to the north is the historic castle town of Harlech. The larger towns of Porthmadog and Dolgellau are 30 mins away to the North and South respectively.

Eryri (Snowdonia) is fast becoming a hot spot for adventure activities. Adrenaline fuelled days out at the Tryweryn White Water, Zip World and Coed Y Brenin mountain biking centre. But more traditional pastimes continue to be popular. A visit to Portmeirion village is recommended as is a trip on the Welsh Highland Railway or a day visiting the pet farm at Llanystumdwy.
