Welcome to Bwthyn Plas Hafod, a charming stone cottage with breathtaking views that stretch across the rolling hills of North Wales. Here, the air smells faintly of woodsmoke and wildflowers, and you’ve got the kind of peace that makes Wi-Fi feel optional.
Tucked away on a peaceful hillside farm, this charming stone cottage with breathtaking views delivers all the romantic cottage-core vibes without sacrificing mod cons. Inside, it’s a clever blend of traditional Welsh character and fresh, homely comforts.
Let’s begin our tour in the kitchen, which will charm the apron off you. Think shaker cabinets, a butler sink, and warm-toned tiles, all neatly wrapped around a country-style dining table cheerfully dressed in a red polka-dot tablecloth. The large patio doors open straight onto the garden, letting you cook breakfast while watching the morning mist drift over the hills.
The living room is packed with personality—from the glowing log burner nestled under a hefty slate lintel to the soft leather seating and Welsh tapestry-style touches. This is a space made for books, board games, and a brew (or something stronger).
Sleeping arrangements are simple but stylish. The master bedroom features a superking bed (which can be split into twin beds if needed), while the second bedroom offers a cosy double framed by soft coastal colours and whimsical detailing. Both are dressed for comfort, complete with fluffy towels and pretty finishing touches.
The bathroom is practical and spotless, with a shower-over-bath set-up that lets you soak or splash as you please, plus a WC and basin.
Outside is where Bwthyn Plas Hafod really excels. Step into the generous private garden, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and enjoy a drink at the picnic table or undercover pod. Whether it’s blazing sunshine or classic Welsh drizzle, you’ve got a sheltered spot to soak up the views.
Set within the grounds of a working farm, you’ll find just one other holiday cottage (Bryn Bugeiliaid Bach) and the owners’ home nearby—so you’re not totally off-grid, but the vibe is thoroughly serene. It’s everything you could want from a charming stone cottage with breathtaking views—the kind of place that makes you consider giving up city life entirely.
Bwthyn Plas Hafod is wonderfully located for exploring North Wales. Just a few minutes from the main road, you’re close enough to get anywhere easily, but far enough to enjoy complete peace and quiet. The cottage is nestled on a working farm surrounded by open countryside, with truly breathtaking panoramic views from the garden and patio.
You’re only a short drive to Dinas Dinlle, a sweeping sandy beach ideal for paddling, pebble-skimming, and windswept wanders. Local villages nearby offer cosy pubs and shops, while the historic town of Caernarfon—with its mighty castle, harbour, and high street essentials—is just a little further.
Beautifully positioned between Caernarfon and Porthmadog, the cottage is ideal for guests looking to explore both of these popular North Wales destinations. And for walking enthusiasts, the mighty Nantlle Ridge stands proudly just opposite the access gate—a stunning sight and a perfect starting point for mountain adventures.
The location gives you easy access to all that Eryri (Snowdonia) and the Llyn Peninsula have to offer: hiking trails, mountains, castles, beaches, and more. Whether you want to climb peaks or coast through cafés, you’re in the right spot!
