Set in the heart of Eryri (Snowdonia), 1 Merddyn Coch is a stunning traditional Welsh stone cottage at the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). The single storey semi-detached property is located in an idyllic riverside setting in Llanberis, with fabulous views of the surrounding landscape. With three bedrooms, sleeping six people in total, it's a fabulous base for exploring all that Eryri has to offer.

A door from the landscaped front garden of the old quarrymans cottage leads into a small porch, before entering the property's stunning lounge area. The traditional dressed stone cottage construction is apparent with a beautiful exposed stone chimney breast, housing a cast iron fireplace with dark wood surround (This is Display only) . The slate hearth and lintel are a nod to the heritage of the surrounding slate landscape, recently awarded UNESCO World Heritage status. The remainder of the walls in the room are light and airy, contrasting against the dark wood ceiling beams running through the room. Industrial wall and ceiling lights, traditional in style, provide warm and cosy lighting. Two dark brown leather sofas and an armchair sit around the fireplace and the TV located in the corner of the room. A thick purple rug adds a splash of bright colour.

A pale wood floor runs throughout, leading into a kitchen and dining area. Kitchen units are fitted to both sides of the room, traditional in style but finished in a stylish mid grey colour with white marble effect worktops. An eye level built in double oven, electric hob and microwave oven provide all the cooking needs required, as well as a kettle, coffee machine and toaster. A dining table, seating six, is located in the centre of the room with a Welsh blanket patterned table cloth, also finished in grey. It's a lovely space to catch up after a day out hiking or exploring. French doors lead from the kitchen diner out onto a decked area overhanging Afon Coch (Red River), which runs below into the nearby Llyn Padarn. This stunning outdoor space is tucked right into the heart of nature, surrounded by trees full of birds, with the river flowing gently down below. With an outdoor dining table, additional outdoor seating and a gorgeous hot tub bubbling away at the end of the patio, this private and secluded space is a wonderful area to relax.

This traditional Welsh stone cottage at the foot of Yr Wyddfa features three double bedrooms, two en-suites and a family bathroom, making it ideal for families or groups of friends. The largest bedroom, the master suite, is a large and airy room with king sized wooden framed bed, two bedside cabinets and stylish lamps. Both bedside cabinets, along with a wardrobe, chest of drawers and dressing table are of pine construction, finished in grey with stained wooden tops. A TV is located above the chest, and there are also two additional accent chairs in the room, providing cosy seating options. The accent colour in the master bedroom is navy, feeding through the soft furnishings and chairs. A door leads to the en-suite shower room, which is accessed via two steps. The modern en-suite is beautifully finished with dark grey wall and floor tiles, with a large walk in shower cubicle with both a rain forest and hand held shower head.

The second double bedroom including en-suite is a smaller room, although still spacious, with a double wooden framed bed alongside bedside cabinets, a wardrobe and drawers finished in white. there is also an LED TV and accent chair. The soft furnishings are finished with splashes of purple adding colour into the modern room. The en-suite is similar in style to the master, with lighter contrasting grey and white tiles to the walls. The shower cubicle again includes a rain forest and hand held shower head. The large window in this en-suite provides ample natural light. The third and final bedroom features two single beds that can be pushed together to create a king sized bed (zip &link), providing a versatile layout. With a grey and yellow colour scheme, this room also includes bedside cabinets and wooden wardrobe. The final room - the family bathroom, is beautifully decorated once again with grey wall and floor tiles. Featuring a bath tub with shower over, the sink and WC are built into a combined vanity unit providing plenty of storage space for toiletries.

With private off road parking at 1 Merddyn Coch, the traditional Welsh stone cottage at the foot of Yr Wyddfa is in the perfect location to leave your car for the duration of your trip, exploring the surrounding area by foot. A five minute walk leads to all the amenities and attractions that the mountain town of Llanberis has to offer. Whether it's hiking, water sports or heading to historical sites, everything is on the doorstep. With the town based at the foot of Yr Wyddfa, the Llanberis Path begins in the town and is the easiest route to climb to the top of Wales' highest mountain. For those not so keen on the epic hike, take the Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) Mountain Railway which heads three quarters of the way up the mountain to Clogwyn Station, providing breath taking views of the beautiful scenery.

A short walk from town leads to a stunning historical attraction - Dolbadarn Castle. The castle was constructed in the thirteenth century by Llywelyn the Great, and the remains still stand today including the round keep which sits proudly in front of the dramatic backdrop of the Yr Wyddfa Massif. Continuing from Dolbadarn Castle along a road between Llyn Peris and Llyn Padarn, the National Slate Museum is a free entry attraction detailing the history and heritage of the slate mining industry right here in Wales. Take a walk into Dinorwic Quarry behind the museum to see the remains of the old barracks where the miners used to live, or wander through many of trails in the quarry which provide some fabulous views of the town, Yr Wyddfa and the lakes below.

As well as being popular with hikers and walkers, Llanberis is a haven for lovers of water sports. Llyn Padarn becomes a hive of activity during the warmer months for kaykers and paddleboarders. It's a fantastic spot to get out on the water with some relatively calm and shallow inlets of the lake for those less confident. North Wales is the place to be to push your boundaries. Get out on the water. Get into the mountains and enjoy. Activities done, it's time to enjoy the numerous pubs, cafes and restaurants that the town has to offer. With a vibrant feel and number of independent retailers providing fabulous food, drink and shopping options in the town, Llanberis is a fantastic hub for your North Wales holiday.
