A property with great access to the coastline and mountains of North Wales, with a fabulous rural location, Rhoslan is a lovingly renovated three bedroom farmhouse near Caernarfon. With modern and bold interiors, this property sleeps six in total and is a fabulous spot for a break in North Wales.
Entering the former farmhouse into a large hallway, doors lead through either side into the large reception rooms beyond. To the right, a wonderful lounge space is decorated in bright blue shades. With wood panelled walls at lower level and bold pattered wallpaper above, the décor certainly has impact. A large L shaped leather sofa sits alongside an armchair, set around a coffee table. Navy rugs stand on the pale wooden flooring and a unit sits in the corner with a Smart TV, perfect for catching up on box sets in the evenings. A Welsh dresser against the back wall provides a nod to the history of this property, contrasting with the otherwise modern décor.
Across the hallway, a door leads into the property’s spacious and modern kitchen. Kitchen units are finished in a sleek white with white stone effect worktops. An electric oven and hob sit within the old brick chimney breast of the room, while L shaped kitchen units follow the exterior walls providing ample prep and storage space along with a dishwasher and large free standing fridge freezer. The counter top units such as the microwave and kettle stand out in their bright red colour, and the walls are finished in a subtle pink.
From the kitchen, a door leads to Rhoslan’s dining room - a bright room with French doors leading out onto a patio. Finished in the same colours and style as the kitchen, an extendable wooden dining table sits centrally with high back dining chairs with a polka dot fabric design. With a white modern side table and feature lamp, this is a fabulous room to gather together for breakfast or dinner. A separate corridor from the kitchen leads past another dresser and into a utility area, with a washing machine that’s perfect for those longer stays. Completing the ground floor layout, a modern and beautifully fitted out cloakroom is located to the rear.
Stairs from the main hallway lead up to the first floor of this lovingly renovated three bedroom farmhouse, providing access to three individually decorated bedrooms, a shower room and bathroom providing great versatility for guests. The master bedroom is a large room finished in a teal colour with a floral pattered feature wall. A large bed sits centrally between two modern bedside cabinets and wall fitted lamps. With a dressing table, two large chest of drawers and a Smart TV, there is also a seating area comprising of two modern chairs and a patterned circular coffee table.
The second double room is another spacious room featuring a metal framed bed, two dark wood bedside cabinets with lamps and a space saving open wardrobe clothes storage option. With a pattered yellow feature wall and curtains, contrasting with the remaining grey shades in the décor, the room is stylish and comfortable. The third and final bedroom, a great sized twin room, features two single beds separated by a bedside cabinet with lamp. With a chest of drawers and a small amount of clothes hanging space, the décor comprises of turquoise and blue finishes with bold pattered bedspreads.
With two bathrooms on the first floor to choose from, guests will be spoilt for choice. Both similarly decorated, the first is a shower room including a large walk-in shower cubicle whereas the second bathroom has a fabulous freestanding modern bathtub sitting a bed of white pebbles. With wonderful lighting features and beautiful split face tiled walls, guests shouldn’t miss the opportunity for a relaxing soak in this luxurious tub, with a glass of something fizzy.
The outdoor space of Rhoslan provides an opportunity for outdoor dining on those balmy Welsh summer evenings. A modern outdoor dining table with benches and a parasol sit on a slate tiled patio. With large planters full of shrubs, high walls, feature lighting and a few pink flamingos throw in for good measure, this private courtyard space is a great spot for al fresco dinner or drinks, and is accessed directly from the dining room.
Located centrally between Bangor and Caernarfon, the lovingly renovated three bedroom farmhouse sits within the grounds of a small agricultural store supplying local farmers. This rural location provides great access to both the coastline and mountains of North Wales. With a ten minute drive to Caernarfon, you’ll find the opportunity to explore this medieval walled town and impressive 13th century caste, built by King Edward I, the then monarch of England who invaded Wales. Fifteen minutes north of Rhoslan, the city of Bangor is the gateway to the Ynys Mon (Anglesey), with miles of stunning coastline featuring magnificent beaches, lighthouses and nature reserves. Be sure to take a walk to the tidal Ynys Llanddwyn, a stunning spot that should not be missed.
Heading south west from the property provides access to the Llyn Peninsula, with further rugged coastline, sandy beaches and mountain walks. Driving inland, the mountain town of Llanberis is less than 15 minutes away by car. The gateway to Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), Llanberis has plenty of interesting landscapes and attractions to suit all. If you decide not to make the strenuous walk up Yr Wyddfa, then the Snowdon Mountain Railway leaves from the town – a far more relaxing trip up the highest mountain in Wales. The area has a rich history of slate mining, so much so that the landscapes have been recognised with UNESCO World Heritage status recently. Head to the National Slate Museum to learn more about the history, before talking a walk to explore the Dinorwic Quarry where many of the old quarry buildings still stand. This spot also provides fabulous views across to the Snowdon massif on a clear day.
Thrill seekers will be spoilt for choice by this property’s location with a number of attractions nearby. Zip World Penrhyn Quarry is located eight miles from Rhoslan, featuring Velocity 2, the world’s fastest zip line reaching hair raising speeds of over 100 miles per hour. Across the Menai Strait, the town of Menai Bridge is home to another thrilling attraction, the Rib Ride. Guests can take a range of high speed adventure boat rides, taking in the sights around Anglesey, including the world famous Swellies - a notorious section of the Menai Strait known for its shipwrecks and whirlpools. For another opportunity to get out onto the open water, a short drive from the property, Plas Menai is the National Outdoor Centre for Wales which offers a range of activities and courses including kayaking, wind surfing and stand-up paddle boarding. Hikers can reach the heart of Snowdonia in fifteen minutes, making the property's location ideal for outdoor lovers.
From the A55: Exit the A55 North Wales Expressway at Junction 11 signposted towards Betws-y-Coed on the A5. Shortly after exiting the A55 onto the A5, at the roundabout take the second exit onto A4244 passing the Services. Continue for just over three miles and continue straight ahead on the next roundabout signposted Caernarfon B4366. Continue for one mile and you will find Rhoslan on the left by turning into the Idris Morris Country Store and driving past the industrial unit.
