A beautiful beachfront holiday cottage in Llanbedrog on the Pen Llyn. Private balcony, stunning mountain & sea views. Sleeps 4.
Sitting right at the water’s edge on a quiet headland cloaked by woodland and heath, this stunning holiday cottage offers an idyllic escape from the busy noise of life.
One of three-holiday apartments at this historic beach house – originally a row of fisherman’s cottages with a boathouse below – the location is the stuff of holiday dreams.
The cottage looks out across a sweeping sandy bay flanked by a pretty woodland backdrop. A row of colourful beach huts stands sentry halfway down the beach, Snowdonia’s peaks are bringing up the rear. The high tide laps directly below your balcony, and at low tide, the sandy beach stretches for miles. It is both magnificent and utterly lovely.
The accommodation is set over two floors and has been carefully designed to make the most of the wonderful views. The main, ground floor living area is open plan with a good size and well-equipped glossy kitchen area, a dining table for four, and a comfortable sitting area with sofa, easy chairs and wall-mounted TV.
The main bedroom is located on the ground floor (because the holiday cottage is built into a hilly headland you are kind of on a split level – the hillside entrance to the cottage is ‘ground’ floor, beachside you are one floor up). This is a spacious bedroom with king size bed, wall mounted TV and en-suite shower room. A patio door opens onto the beachside balcony.
The ‘ground’ level is also home to the smart family shower room, then it’s upstairs to a second bedroom with twin beds. This is a lovely light room built into the eves with sloped ceiling and dormer windows. There is a wall mounted TV.
This is a beautiful beachfront holiday cottage in Llanbedrog on the Pen Llyn. There is wood flooring and underfloor heating throughout, as well as a good WiFi connection and Netflix.
If you are visiting with a larger group, there are two adjacent properties also available for holiday rental, accommodating a further 6 + 6 guests.
The cottage sits on the edge of the Llanbedrog headland, on the south side of the Pen Llyn. It looks out across Cardigan Bay towards Snowdonia’s mighty peaks. This is a quiet and peaceful beachside location, and with its colourful beach huts, sheltered bay and plentiful golden sand it’s hard to imagine a more idyllic seaside hideaway.
The cottage is just a short distance from some of the Llyn’s most popular seaside villages, including Abersoch, Aberdaron and Pwllheli. You’ll find plenty to see and do in any of these lovely places, including plenty of options for eating out. Abersoch and Pwllheli are well-known for their watersports, including surfing to SUPing and body boarding. Pwllheli has an excellent marina.
Llanbedrog beach is golden, sandy and relatively shallow and sheltered. The Wales Coastal Path is right on your doorstep – follow it up and over the headland to Abersoch, checking out the impressive Tin Man sculpture on your way. The views from the top of the headland are spectacular, taking in Eryri's (Snowdonia’s) peaks, Cardigan Bay and St Tudwal’s Islands. If you prefer to walk on the sand, it’s less than a mile around the headland to Abersoch. Just make sure you check the tide timetables before you set off.
Back at the cottage, you’re a few minutes walk from the Oriel Plas Glyn-y -Weddw, a wonderful showcase for Welsh art, music and theatre. It’s well-worth checking out what’s going on during your stay. And if you fancy eating out, the friendly, family-run Aqua beach bar and restaurant is just a stone’s throw down the lane.
