Hafod-Llecheiddior is a bright and spacious holiday cottage in a rural setting. A fantastic family space both inside and out make it a great holiday retreat, especially with its modern and stylish interiors and accessibility to other parts of North Wales.
The large, open driveway upon arrival, offering uninterrupted views of the Eryri (Snowdonia) mountains, creates an incredibly welcoming first impression. The sense of space, combined with the cottage's peaceful, rural setting and its enclosed grounds, is simply perfect.
As you step inside, you'll find a bright and airy open-plan kitchen, dining, and sitting area. Vaulted ceilings, large patio doors, and generous windows flood the space with natural light, enhancing its spacious feel. The kitchen features sleek, high-gloss cream units and a breakfast bar with stools, making it an ideal spot for socialising while preparing meals. The sitting area offers plenty of comfortable seating for five, complemented by thoughtfully selected wooden furniture that adds warmth and charm to the room.
Down the hall from the kitchen, there are three beautifully appointed bedrooms: one double, one twin, and one single. Both the double and twin bedrooms come with ensuite bathrooms, and there’s also a communal WC. Each bedroom is fitted with plush carpets and inviting, plump beds, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. The modern bathrooms, styled with slate tiles, wet-room showers, and sleek chrome fittings, evoke the feel of a luxury boutique hotel.
The outdoor space at this charming cottage is truly delightful. The enclosed front area features a stone driveway, a spacious patio, and a beautifully maintained lawn, offering sweeping views over open fields and towards the majestic Eryri (Snowdonia) mountains. The patio, with its comfortable outdoor seating, provides the perfect spot to unwind and soak in the peaceful surroundings.
Ideally situated, the cottage offers excellent access to many of North Wales's most iconic locations, including the Pen Llyn, Eryri, and the North Wales Coast. It’s just a 20-minute drive to Beddgelert, the closest starting point for climbing Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). Porthmadog, the nearest town, boasts a wide selection of shops, major supermarkets, and delightful cafés. Here, you can also hop on the Ffestiniog Steam Train, which takes you on a scenic journey into the mountains. A pleasant 15-minute walk from Porthmadog brings you to the picturesque village of Borth-y-Gest, and the enchanting Portmeirion Village is just a short drive away.
Criccieth, only 15 minutes from the cottage, is home to your nearest beach and offers a delightful blend of antique shops, cosy cafés, and the renowned Cadwaladers Ice Cream parlour. Be sure to visit Dylan's restaurant, perched right on the seafront. From Criccieth, you have easy access to Pwllheli’s bustling marina and further along to Abersoch, a vibrant hub for watersports and surfing.
Heading 20 minutes north, you’ll reach Caernarfon, famed for its magnificent castle and stunning beaches. Nearby Bethesda is where you'll find the thrilling Zip World, perfect for adventurers.

Things to do in Criccieth
From the north, continue out of Caernarfon on the A487. You pass through Bryncir and as you come out, take the right turn onto the cB4411. Follow this road for approx 0.5 miles, taking the first right turn. Follow this road for 1 mile (following two bends in the road and the Hafod-Llecheiddior is on your right-hand side.
From the south, take the A487 from Porthmadog. Take the first turning on the left (B4411) after the Madiha Indian. Follow this road for approx 0.5 miles, taking the first right turn. Follow this road for 1 mile (following two bends in the road and the Hafod-Llecheiddior is on your right-hand side.
