This farm holiday accommodation with mountain views is super-stylish and luxurious. A beautiful barn conversion on the stunning Llyn Peninsula, it sleeps up to seven guests in four bedrooms.

The location of this cottage is pretty hard to beat. Tucked away in the peaceful Llyn countryside, yet easily accessible from the main Caernarfon to Porthmadog highway, it is the perfect escape for anyone in search of a restorative North Wales getaway.

The cottage occupies its own private plot next to a working farm, and is surrounded by rolling Llyn countryside. It comes with a large garden, far reaching views of the Eryri (Snowdonia) mountains, and – on a clear night – some of the most beautiful starry skies you could ever hope to gaze at.

It has been recently renovated to the highest standards. Nice touches like luxurious fabrics, comfortable leather armchairs and a great library of books give it the look and feel of an elegant boutique hotel. It is a bright, roomy cottage, with plenty of space for guests to socialise and spread out.

Downstairs at this farm holiday accommodation with mountain views, you’ll find a large sitting room with wooden floors and exposed oak beam. A comfortable sofa and a couple of leather armchairs are arranged around a toasty fire. There is a great library of books to dip into, and a wall-mounted TV.

Sliding glass doors from the sitting room lead through to a large sunroom, which is home to two more super-comfy sofas and magnificent panoramic views of the Llyn countryside and Eryri (Snowdonia) mountains. A glazed door opens out onto a dining terrace, with a lawned garden beyond.

The kitchen diner is spectacular, with gleaming granite work surfaces, a breakfast bar, large dining table and Aga range cooker. There is also an electric cooker if you prefer to cook with that, and a large fridge freezer. A separate utility room with an external door to the garden is super-handy for managing muddy shoes and clothes.

The cottage layout is slightly quirky, with two lovely double bedrooms downstairs, as well one bathroom with large walk in shower and a second large bathroom with a roll top bath. All of these rooms are beautifully presented.

Upstairs you will find two further bedrooms, one with twin beds, and one very decent sized single room. These bedrooms sit under the eaves, and with exposed wooden beams and apex ceilings (the head room is decent) are really cosy, attractive spaces.

Out in the garden, there is plenty of space to relax and enjoy. As well as the dining terrace, there are two lawned areas. There is a low stone wall around the property which allows uninterrupted views of the spectacular landscapes on all sides.

The cottage is ideally placed for easy access to many of the region’s attractions. Ideal for anyone who enjoys nature and being active in the outdoors, it is close to the Lôn Efion cycle path and the Y Lôn Goed walking trail, as well as many of the region’s best adventures and attractions.

On the Llyn Peninsula you’re never far from a spectacular beach, and the seaside town of Criccieth is within an easy 15 minute drive of the cottage, with Abersoch, Llanbedrog, Porthdinllaen and Morfa Nefyn 20-30 minutes away.

The Llyn is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and one of Britain’s oldest pilgrimage routes. On both counts it’s not hard to see why. An exceptional and dramatic shoreline of coves, cliffs, bays, secret sandy beaches, offshore islands and stacks, wild beating waves – it’s a picture of what an idyllic coastal wilderness might look like.

At Criccieth, you’ll find traditional Welsh tearooms, some great places to eat out, as well as some very decent fish & chips. Expect attractive independent shops and some wonderfully browsable galleries and antiques. There’s even a traditional Welsh clog maker who still has his workshop in the town. Oh, and a medieval castle to watch over it all. It’s a great place to explore.

The Llyn’s sandy beaches and sheltered bays are brilliant playgrounds for all sorts of watersports including kitesurfing, windsurfing, sailing, SUPing and surfing – but they’re also great for the more traditional seaside pursuits of paddling, swimming, rock pooling and sandcastling.

This farm holiday accommodation with mountain views is a short drive from some great family activities and adventures, including the petting zoo at Dwyfor Ranch Rabbit Farm (10 minutes), Glasfryn Parc, karting and wakeboarding centre (20 minutes), and Bounce Below, Zip World and Llechwedd slate mine at Blaenau Ffestiniog (40 minutes).

For slightly more grown up days out, head to Portmeirion and its Italian style fantasy village (25 minutes), or Harlech with its steep winding streets and UNESCO-listed 13th century fortress (35 minutes). Or how about a day out on a steam railway? The Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland railway are a splendid way to see North Wales.

There are more beaches than you could ever reasonably hope to explore on the Llyn Peninsula, but one of our favourites has to be at Porthdinllaen near Nefyn. It’s home to a beautifully sheltered sandy bay and what is consistently voted one of the best bars in the world – the Ty Coch Inn. An idyllic place for a pint and a ploughman’s, but check opening times before you visit.
