Charming barn conversion with mountain and sea views, wood-fired hot tub, and stylish interiors. Ideal for couples or small families.[Read more...]

Tucked away in the hills above Dyffryn Ardudwy, Nant is a beautifully restored barn that blends Eryri rustic charm with modern comfort. With a wood-fired hot tub, soaring ceilings, and spectacular views of both mountains and sea, this stone-built retreat is as romantic as it is relaxed.

Step inside and you're greeted by a warm open-plan living space complete with slate floors, underfloor heating, and a log burner that crackles away just as a log burner should. The glass-fronted doors let light flood in and frame that all-important view hills, hedgerows, and fields that feel like they go on forever.

A fully fitted shaker-style kitchen sits snugly to one side, well stocked with everything you need to knock up a fry-up or a romantic supper. The compact dining table is made for lazy breakfasts and late-night card games. A twin bedroom is tucked away downstairs along with a fresh, modern shower room.

Venture up the bespoke alternating tread staircase to reach the mezzanine bedroom. It a characterful king-sized cocoon under oak beams and a skylight stargazing optional but highly recommended. Do note that the steep stairs make this better suited for the sure-footed.

Outside, things only get better. A private garden patio with dining area gives way to the wood-fired hot tub, perched to soak up views of the sea and Moelfre gentle peak. Set on a working farm, there a real sense of countryside life here from the sound of birdsong to the occasional cluck from a wandering chicken. Friendly farm dogs from the main house often potter past to say hello (and maybe see if you dropped any toast).

Nant is all about switching off, slowing down, and soaking up the simple pleasures of rural Eryri. Whether you returning from a hill walk or just enjoying a day doing absolutely nothing, this cottage offers a delicious dose of peace and privacy.

Nant is part of a peaceful cluster of traditional buildings on Byrdir Farm, just above the village of Dyffryn Ardudwy in North Wales. You’re surrounded by fields, dry-stone walls, and big skies — and yet only a few minutes’ drive from sandy Bennar Beach, ideal for barefoot strolls and brisk sea dips.

The farm itself is a haven for nature lovers and walkers, with Moelfre right on your doorstep. It's a short but rewarding climb and offers panoramic views across the Eryri range and out to the shimmering sea. Chickens and ducks wander the grounds, adding to the authentic countryside feel.

In Dyffryn you’ll find a butcher, a village shop, post office, garage, and two cafés (because one is never enough). The coastal resort of Barmouth is about 15 minutes away by car, while Harlech Castle — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — is a similarly short hop in the other direction.

This spot is ideal for those wanting to explore Eryri National Park, the Wales Coast Path, or just sit still and let the landscape do the work.

Check-in: 16:00 | Check-out: 10:00

The key to the cottage will be left in the door but come down to the main farmhouse to say hello if you get a chance.
Please pop the key back in the door when it's time to go home.

Hot Tub
The wood burning hot tub is very much a "hands on experience" as it isn't the electric instant switch-on kind. On arrival, you will need to fill the hot tub with fresh water, then light the wood burner and wait for it to heat up. You do have to make sure you make a roaring fire and during the colder winter months, this needs to be done a few hours ahead of using of the hot tub.
You'll be supplied with a starter bundle of logs, kindling, matches, firelighters and newspaper to start you off. More logs will be needed and can be purchased from the owner or you're welcome to bring your own. Enjoy!
