Uwch Y Mor is a three bedroom holiday home with sea views in Llanfairfechan, a Victorian seaside village situated between Bangor and Conwy. A traditional stone cottage, it is beautifully refurbished giving a warm and inviting feel with lots of character.
The main entrance brings you straight into the sitting room. A lovely and inviting room with a log fire as the main feature. Exposed beams mixed with antique pieces of furniture gives this room a really great feel and will certainly be a place to get your downtime in.
Through to a galley style kitchen/diner area, this room has a modern farmhouse feel to it. The cream wooden kitchen units, dresser and traditional wooden table and chairs gives character without feeling overcrowded. With all modern appliances and plenty of storage room, there is everything you need to cater for your group.
Off the back of the kitchen is a utility room with a washing machine and dryer and the backdoor which leads out to the garden. The family bathroom is located at the far end of the utility room which has a bath over shower, WC and washbasin - again the use of old traditional light fittings against modern tiles and fixtures really give a great look.
One of the double bedrooms is located on the ground floor - having kept the original features of the house, this room includes a beautiful fireplace.
Upstairs brings us to two more bedrooms; another double and a twin. Both rooms have original oak floorboards and antique pieces dotted around the rooms - all beautifully put together. There is a WC with washbasin up here too.
The cottage itself has an elevated garden which gives incredible views of the sea and the mountains. A patio area with bbq and garden furniture is perfectly set up to enjoy lots of al fresco eating during the warmer months. There is also a lawn with lots of pretty shrubbery making it feel tranquil.
Llanfairfechan is a great position for exploring the coast and mountains but if you want a day near to the cottage, the village itself has quite a lot on offer. A long sandy beach, promenade, boating lake, paddling pool and gardens with tennis courts, picnic areas, playground and skate park are all in the village itself and a golf course is only a stones throw from the cottage.
You are 15 minutes from Anglesey where you'll find lots to explore including Newborough Forest, Beaumaris Castle and a visit to the village with the longest name is also not to be missed: LLANFAIRPWLLGWYNGYLLGOGERYCHWYRNDROBWLLLLANTYSILIOGOGOGOCH (Llanfair PG is its shortened name).
15 minutes east will bring you to Conwy, which is a medieval town with the famous castle. The famous Zip World is also only a short drive from the cottage.
20 minutes in the car will take you into the heart of Eryri where you can enjoy the mountains, lakes and rivers - whether it is walking, climbing, SUP, Kayaking, white water rafting or, sailing that you are into, there is something for everyone.

From the East (Conwy) head south-west on the North Wales Expressway, the A55 for 5 miles. Half a mile after exiting the Penmaen Tunnel take the first exit off the roundabout onto Penmaenmawr Road direction Llanfairfechan. Continue for 1 mile through the village before turning left onto Caerffynnon Road, direction golf club. Continue up this road, and continue straight at junction. As the road narrows onto Gwyllt Road and begins to descend back down the hill you will see a collection of cottages on your left-hand side. Uwch Y Mor is the last but one cottage.
From the West (Bangor) head East on the North Wales Expressway, the A55 for approximately 5 miles. Exit at junction 14 direction Llanfairfechan. After crossing back over the A55 take the first immediate left onto Gwyllt Road. Continue for 1.3 miles following the road round to the left before it begins to climb a steep hill. As the road begins to level out you will see a collection of cottages on your right. Uwch Y Mor is the second cottage along. (The first cottage as an obvious double garage with brown doors.)
