Sycamorwydden is a large self catering holiday home near Conwy in North Wales. This spacious and modern 4 bedroom cottage provides luxurious accommodation for up to 8 guests, with hot tub, on the northern tip of the Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri (Snowdonia National Park).
Spacious is a bit of an understatement. The huge kitchen diner is a great space for family get-togethers. A well-equipped kitchen has plenty of storage space in addition to some high spec appliances. Patio doors lead onto the rear patio whilst a central island separates the space from the dining area. Here, a rectangular dining table is accompanied by an upholstered leather sofa and a large flat screen TV.
A separate utility room houses a washer drier an additional sink and yet more storage. Next door the lavish ground floor wet room houses an extravagant power shower as well as washbasin and wc.
Moving back round to the front of the house we come to the lounge. An impressive flat screen TV hangs on the wall. (The second of 7 TV’s in the property.) Comfy, modern grey sofas to relax into. A luxurious carpet and tasteful decorative features finish the room of nicely.
The cottage has four bedrooms in total. The master bedroom has a king sized bed as well as a large en-suite shower room. Twin beds in the other 3 bedrooms plus an additional family bathroom.
I would describe one of the twin bedrooms as being the usual size. But the other three are huge. Again, plenty of wardrobe space, a TV in each room and immaculate bedding. The décor and fittings are testament to a professionally run self-catering property.
Sycamorwydden is one of a handful of lovely cottages on the site, so we do ask guests to respect a quiet time after 10pm – especially when soaking in the hot tub.
Penmaenmawr is a small mining town on the northern most tip of the Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri (Snowdonia National Park) in North Wales. The town has a couple of pubs and restaurants all within walking distance of this large self catering holiday home.
The cottage is located on the outskirts of the village on the grounds of one of the premier large trout fisheries in North Wales. The 2 1/2 acre lake is only a short walk up the lane from the cottage.
The owners of Sycamorwydden have also come to an agreement with Graiglwyd Hall caravan park nearby which ensures guests can enjoy the use of the bar and leisure facilities on this quiet and well run site.
Jump in the car and within 10 minutes guests can be strolling the streets of the medieval walled town of Conwy. Or if in the summer you may prefer to stroll along of the ever-popular seaside town of Llandudno.
Llanberis and the slopes of Wyddfa (Snowdon) are about 15 minutes to the southwest and along the way you’ll past the longest zip line in the world at Bethesda and the world-renowned Plas Menai National Watersports centre near Caernarfon. On the way back home you if you had some energy left you might like to do some mountain biking on the Marian Trail in Betws Y Coed or perhaps spend a more relaxed afternoon strolling the magnificent grounds at Bodnant Gardens.
Also onsite, a few minutes walk from the property:
Sblash Aqua Park (Sblash Aqua Park) promises laughter, excitement, and a fun-filled experience for all. Suitable for children aged 6 and above, this brand new aqua park includes a wide range of inflatable obstacles which provide a variety of challenges for all levels of fitness and confidence; balance, climb, slide, jump and ‘sblash’ your way through this wet and wild assault course. Set in a spring fed lake, nestled amidst scenic Welsh countryside, Sblash is a great all-weather activity. Open May to October, booking essential. Plus, guests enjoy a generous 20% discount on Sblash entry fees when staying on-site! 5 miles from Conwy. More info. here
