Tucked away on a quiet cul de sac, Llwyn y Maen is a stylish and spacious holiday home in Llanbedrog, within walking distance of the beach and two village pubs. With plenty of space both inside and out, and parking for several cars, this contemporary property makes an excellent choice for families sharing.

Located on the southern coast of Pen Llyn, Llanbedrog is an attractive little village, roughly halfway between the market town of Pwllheli and the popular village of Abersoch. With two pubs, a well regarded restaurant, an art gallery, stunning National Trust beach and pleasant walking routes, Llanbedrog is a lovely place to visit.

Laid out mainly on one floor, Llwyn y Maen sleeps up to eight guests. The property is bright and airy throughout with contemporary coastal decor creating a lovely, calm atmosphere. On the ground floor enter into a useful utility/ boot room that’s ideal for wellies, walking boots or beach paraphernalia, then into the spacious, well equipped kitchen-diner with ample space for keen cooks to prepare meals.

Off the kitchen is a bright and spacious lounge with a contemporary log-burner and dual aspect patio doors which open onto a large wraparound veranda with glass balcony. Also off the kitchen a conservatory opens onto the upper garden, offering a comfortable alternative space to relax.

Accessed via either the lounge or the kitchen, a generous hallway with a desk offers an occasional workspace for any essential emails; in this area you will also find a useful selection of local guides and walking books to help you plan your holiday activities. Off the hallway is a bathroom with separate bath and shower and two bedrooms; a superking, which can be adapted into two singles, with a pull out trundle bed ideal for children sharing, and a king, which can also be adapted to make two singles.

Downstairs a third bedroom is decorated in a calming natural colour scheme with a king sized bed and views over the lower garden. Also on the lower ground is a shower room and a games room. A great addition that’s sure to keep the family occupied no matter the weather, the games room is well equipped with a Murphy king bed which can fold away, a pool table, air hockey, table tennis and table football, as well as a selection of outdoor games.

The outdoor space of this stylish and spacious holiday home in Llanbedrog is a real bonus and has been well thought out to make the most of the lovely private garden. A hot and cold outdoor shower is ideal for washing sandy toes, while the sizable wraparound balcony provides plenty of space for outdoor dining. Garden loungers provide a welcome place to enjoy the beautiful rural views, with Snowdon visible in the distance, while a hammock offers the ultimate spot for holiday relaxation. In the evening, light the BBQ, gather round the fire pit and enjoy a sociable evening of good food and good company.

Llanbedrog itself is an attractive little village, popular with returning visitors. There are two pubs within walking distance, Y Llong / The Ship in upper Llanbedrog and the Glyn y Weddw Arms in lower Llanbedrog. Just along the lane from Llwyn y Maen is Tremfan Hall restaurant, ideal for Sunday lunch or an evening out.

The National Trust beach, with its iconic colourful beach huts, is within easy walking distance. This sandy beach is a great choice for families with shallow waters and no strong currents. The cafe/ bar on the beach offers lunch, drinks, ice creams and evening meals and is open daily during the summer months.

At the top of the beach road Oriel Plas Glyn y Weddw, Wales oldest art gallery, is a great place to visit with free art exhibitions, a shop, cafe, and an outdoor theatre that hosts regular events during the summer season. From the Plas you can take various trails up Mynydd Tir y Cwmwd (Llanbedrog Headland) towards the ‘Tin Man’ sculpture to enjoy fantastic panoramic views of Cardigan Bay; retrace your steps back to Oriel Plas, or join the Wales Coast Path to walk towards nearby Abersoch.

With its many shops, cafes and restaurants Abersoch is well worth a visit, particularly for watersports enthusiasts, as are the villages along the north coast of Pen Llyn ; Nefyn has a lovely beach, along with several pubs and the Llyn Maritime Museum; a few miles away in Morfa Nefyn you can enjoy lunch at The Cliffs before walking the length of the beach to the National Trust owned hamlet of Porthdinllaen. The Wales Coast path will take you past several other delightful beaches and hidden coves, this walking route is a great way to explore and enjoy the spectacular coastal scenery of Pen Llyn.
