Coed Stable is a beautiful barn conversion on the outskirts of Dolgellau. Sleeping two, it is set in a rural location with stunning views. Only a 5 minute drive outside of Dolgellau, Coed Stable offers that ‘get away from it all’ factor whilst being well situated to access the other, many beautiful parts of Eryri (Snowdonia).

Southern Eryri is a very popular place for those who enjoy walking as it offers a stunning and dramatic landscape but without the crowds that Snowdon itself attracts. Dolgellau sits at the foot of Cader Idris and is a traditional market town with cobbled streets and a good selection of cafes and restaurants to relax and recoup in after a day out in and around Eryri.

Coed Stable is part of a traditional stone barn, converted to a very high spec. The down stairs is an open plan kitchen, diner and sitting room. Slate floor tiles with underfloor heating give a modern feel to the room while the neutral colours of the sofas and soft furnishings bring in the warmth. The kitchen area with the cream coloured units and wooden countertop are all beautifully finished.

The downstairs is light and airy with french windows behind the dining area which open out into a small private courtyard area with climbing roses, teak furniture with cushions and parasol which will be a perfect place to relax on a summers evening.

Upstairs is a double room with an apex ceiling and bathroom. The bedroom is very light and airy and simply decorated in white and cream but still offering that cosy feeling. Next to the bedroom is a lovely, modern bathroom with shower over bath, WC and washbasin.

The outside courtyard is accessed via the french doors in the living room, is a great outside space with table and chairs. But when you’re ready to explore, a small woodland area above the cottage leads onto open country criss crossed with many footpaths some of which will lead you right up to the summit of Cader Idris. If you want to add a wild swim into the mix, on your way down, take the route via Llyn Cau. On a summers evening you can walk to nearby Crossfoxes Pub which is less than a mile away.

Dolgellau is a traditional market town in the Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri (Snowdonia National Park). With lots of lovely cafes and restaurants, it is a great place to go and while away an afternoon – TH Roberts is perfect for coffee and cakes; all homemade. Tafarn Y Gader Tapas has great reviews and certainly a place to visit for dinner and Dylan Wad a very nice wine bar/coffee bar is always a winner. The popular walk and cycle path the Mawddach trail and the George III pub.

Walks from the cottage include The Torrent Walk and the foothills of Cadair Idris. Coed Y Brenin Mountain bike centre is 10 minutes drive – an amazing day out where they have 6 mountain bike trails alongside running and walking trails – something for everyone and all abilities.

20 minutes West will bring you to Barmouth where you will enjoy the blue flag beaches and all the trappings of a traditional seaside town - there is a bigger range of shops here; great independents where you can pick up some really great items. There is of course the harbour and prom complete with a fairground.

35 mins South will take you to the sailing village of Aberdovey where again, a great way to spend the day with nice cafes and pubs to eat and drink.

Eryri of course is well known for its adventure activities. 20 mins East will bring you to Bala where you can visit the National Whitewater Centre, or Llyn Tegid where there are plenty of watersports you can enjoy including sailing, windsurfing, kayaking etc. If canyoning is more your thing, there are lots of local operators that offer this.

The more world famous Portmeirion Village, Zip World are also within reach.
