Welcome to Bwthyn-Bronafon, a cosy seaside retreat with estuary views nestled in the charming village of Borth-y-Gest, North Wales. Whether you're watching the tides shimmer from the window seat or heading out for a wlak along the coastal path, this peaceful escape puts you in the heart of the region’s coastal magic.

Inside this lovingly updated Victorian annex, you’ll find a light-filled open-plan living and dining space, where bay windows frame spectacular estuary views. Two comfy sofas invite you to unwind, while a clever little writing desk offers the perfect perch for journaling or holiday planning. At the dining table, enjoy breakfast with the tide and dinner with the sunset.

The compact kitchen is modern and well-equipped, with navy shaker-style cabinets and all the essentials for cooking in (or eating fish and chips from Porthmadog). Downstairs also features a smart, fully tiled shower room with a walk-in enclosure, WC and washbasin.

Upstairs are two peaceful bedrooms: a serene double room with partial sea views and a calming coastal vibe, and a sweet single room that works well for a child, solo traveller or quiet reading retreat.

Outside, guests enjoy access to a shared lawned garden, shaded by tall pines with a view that’s pure coastal therapy. Outdoor furniture is provided, ideal for al fresco breakfasts or evening drinks with the estuary breeze. A patio/balcony area offers another private corner to relax.

Free on-site parking is available for one car, with free street parking nearby for extras. And with the Wales Coast Path practically crossing the garden gate, you'll be out and adventuring in no time.

Bwthyn-Bronafon sits at the heart of Borth-y-Gest, one of North Wales’ most beloved seaside villages. With its pastel terraces, bobbing boats and pine-topped headlands, it feels like a well-kept secret — a place where time slows down and sea air does its magic.

From the front door, join the Wales Coast Path and explore hidden coves, golden sands, and dramatic cliff-top views. You can walk to Samson’s Bay, Black Rock Sands, or even as far as Criccieth Castle via the spectacular coastal trail. A 20-minute stroll (or 5-minute drive) lands you in Porthmadog, with its shops, cafés and the historic Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway.

Venture slightly further and you’re spoiled for choice: the whimsical Italianate village of Portmeirion, the wild hills of Eryri National Park, and the towering battlements of Harlech Castle — all within easy reach.

Bwthyn-Bronafon is also part of a rare coastal trio:

Bronafon Fawr (next door) is a larger property perfect for families

Gweithdy Bronafon (just behind) is a stylish retreat for two.

Together, they offer flexible options for group getaways with privacy and panoramic views in equal measure.
