For a perfect rural getaway, look no further than this recently refurbished historic family farmhouse in North West Wales. Located between the coastline of Bae Ceredigion and the Rhinogydd mountains, Allt-Goch is a wonderful four bedroom property, sleeping seven in total. For lovers of the outdoors, there are walks directly from the doorstep and a short drive will lead to some of the best beaches in Wales.
The front door of the double fronted, newly decorated property, leads through to a fabulous open plan living space. Commanding the whole front of the property, this wonderful space comprises a kitchen diner to one side, with a comfy lounge area to the other. The charm and character of the farmhouse is immediately evident with its uneven whitewashed plaster walls, dark wooden ceiling beams and quarry tile flooring. The shaker kitchen is stylish, while retaining a traditional feel. With pale grey wooden doors and a dark worktop, the kitchen includes a built in dishwasher, large fridge freezer and range cooker with electric hob. There's ample space for cooking and entertaining in the kitchen, with an adjacent six seater dining table.
A wooden divider separates the kitchen from the lounge - an inviting space with two chocolate brown leather sofas positioned around a coffee table, facing a large inglenook fireplace with a warming log burner. This is one of two lounge areas in Allt-Goch and is the perfect spot to retire after dinner for a some drinks and catch up in a cosy space. A door to the rear of the open plan living space leads through to a central hallway, that doubles up as a utility room. From this space, there is access to a ground floor bathroom with shower cubicle, WC and basin. Completing the ground floor layout of Allt-Goch, a second lounge area to the rear of the property is the perfect place to get comfy and catch up on your favourite box set. With a wall mounted Smart TV, a large sofa and two armchairs, this additional lounge provides another option for somewhere to relax in the evenings.
Stairs lead up to the first floor of this recently refurbished historic family farmhouse which comprises of three double bedrooms, a single bedroom and two bathrooms. With sloping ceilings and exposed beams, the bedrooms retain the same character as that of the ground floor. The bedrooms are bright and airy, with plenty of natural light and white painted walls to maximise this. Both of the larger doubles to the front of the property feature wooden framed beds with a subtle leaf print bedding adding some texture and colour. A mix of stylish antique bedroom furniture adds charm to the rooms and there is ample storage space for clothing. The third double room to the rear of the property, whilst a little smaller, also includes a wooden framed bed with textured white bedding and some lovely furniture pieces. Completing the bedrooms, a smaller room includes a single bed alongside a chest of drawers and bedside table.
Allt-Goch benefits from having three bathrooms in total, with two on the first floor, which is ideal for when a larger group is staying. The first bathroom features a corner walk in shower cubicle, alongside a WC and basin, with shelving built into the wall that’s ideal for storing toiletries. Patterned floor tiles add a little colour to the room. The second first floor bathroom features a fabulous walk in shower cubicle with rain forest head, finished in a striking blue tile.
This is an amazing property for those that enjoy being outside. Accessed from the hallway of the recently refurbished historic family farmhouse, the rear garden features a lawn area with a picnic table, along with a rustic porch with a bench where guests can sit, relax with a drink and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Wanting to hike somewhere less crowded than Eryri's main hub? The country lanes from Allt-Goch lead to a number of hiking trails, including routes onto the neighbouring Rhinogydd mountains, where a variety of paths wind through the hills, accommodating hikers of all experience and fitness levels. Heading to the coast from the property, a number of stunning beaches line the coastline here including Benar Beach, Morfa Dyffryn and the sweeping sands of Harlech Beach, flanked by huge sand dunes.
With its convenient location halfway between Harlech and Barmouth, there are lots of opportunities to go exploring from the property. Travel north to Harlech and explore the 13th-century Harlech Castle to discover more about the background of this architectural marvel of the Middle Ages. On a clear day, you'll have views of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) from the castle, which offers breathtaking views. Make sure to visit some of the town's adorable boutiques for gifts. Barmouth, a seaside resort south of Allt-Goch, is home to the historic Barmouth Bridge, a local icon, along with a gorgeous beach with a picturesque mountain backdrop. Walk along the Mawddach Trail - an inland walking and cycling path on an abandoned railway line that follows the Mawddach Estuary towards Dolgellau, starting from the Barmouth area.
Coed-y-Brenin Forest Park is close by for avid mountain bikers. This purpose-built mountain biking complex offers routes for all skill levels and is an excellent place for walkers too, with wonderful paths which are ideal for families and four-legged companions. This part of North Wales has something to offer everyone, and the breathtaking scenery is not to be missed.

Things To Do In Barmouth

From Harlech: Heading south from Harlech on the A496 towards Barmouth, and upon arriving into Llanbedr after 3 miles, take the left turn at the Victoria Inn towards Cwm Bychan and Cwm Nantcol. Follow the signs towards Cwm Bychan and Cwm Nantcol, pass Llanbedr Primary School on the left. Carry on for approx. 2.5 miles. Through a hamlet Pentre Gwynfryn – be careful residents park on the road here. Continue through Pentre Gwynfryn to the next junction and turn right (do not go ahead to Cwm Bychan)Follow the road (there will be a turning on the left towards Cwm Nantcol and Nantcol Waterfalls do not go this way) continue straight up a very steep hill through woodland. Once you come out of the woods continue, the road will turn sharply to the right continue over a private narrow cattle grid. Continue over the cattle grid (do not take the first right) carry on for approx. quarter of a mile, Alltgoch farm will be on the right. Larger vehicles SUVs and Vans use the bottom entrance (open two wooden gates), smaller vehicles can use the top entrance over the cattle grid.

<p>We have left the key to the property in a key safe on the left side recess of the portico. The code is 0706. If you arrive after dark a torch would be useful. </p> The heating is by oil fired combi boiler and is set to come on in the mornings and evenings. There is an 'extra hour' button if needed. The large kitchen also has a wood-burning stove and we will leave a supply logs and kindling free of charge. Extra logs may be purchased. Please do not use un-seasoned firewood. Please take care and adhere to the rules supplied regarding the wood-burning stove. The door handle does become very hot so please use the protective glove; and there is a safety guard to be used if you have children. <p>The Outdoor is open countryside which is ideal for playing and adventure but please be aware that there are dangers for children, so please do not leave them unattended.<br /> <br /> <strong>For stays longer than two weeks, a mid-stay linen change can be arranged.
