Welcome to Melin-Bennar, a luxury holiday cottage in Dyffryn Ardudwy that manages to be both historically grand and "just moved in" pristine. This substantial stone barn conversion is one of four high-quality holiday cottages on a traditional farm site, perfectly positioned where the mountains of Eryri meet the sea.

Your guided tour begins on the ground floor, a masterclass in social geography designed for large groups. The heart of the home is a sprawling kitchen/diner, featuring sleek units and a dining table large enough to host a minor banquet for the 10 guests this property comfortably accommodates. Just off the kitchen, you’ll find the games room, a dedicated sanctuary of competitive spirit featuring a full-sized pool table. For the bookworms, the ground floor library wall and study nook is ideal for those who claimed they were "working from home" while actually eyeing the beach.

Wander further on this level to discover two spacious king-size bedrooms, each boasting its own en-suite shower room. These are perfect for those who prefer to keep their holiday on one level.

Ascending the stairs, you reach the first-floor sitting room. This is the "wow" moment. With its vaulted ceiling, exposed original oak beams, and a massive stone-clad wall housing a real fire (log burner), it’s the kind of room that makes a rainy Welsh Tuesday feel like a luxury retreat. The elevated position of this lounge provides stunning sea views across the fields, ensuring you can check the tide without leaving the sofa.

The first floor also hosts the remaining three bedrooms. This includes the impressive master suite: a king-size bedroom with a lavish en-suite featuring a freestanding bath and a shower over. Joining the master are two further rooms: a flexible twin bedroom and a clever bunk room featuring one standard single and a full-size single cabin bed - the perfect den for younger guests.

From Harlech: Heading south from Harlech on the A496 past the railway station, continue along the road for just six miles passing through the villages of Coed Ystumgwern and Dyffryn Ardudwy. Shortly after leaving Dyffryn Ardudwy, take a right turn onto Ffordd Benar, signposted, Ystad Morfa Dyffryn Seaside Estate and continue for just under half a mile. Take a left turn into the driveway marked Ty Bennar and follow the drive to the end, Melin-Bennar is the large property straight ahead. .
