Ty Chi is a two bedroom holiday cottage near Llanddwyn beach. Sleeping four, this beautiful and elegant barn conversion has the added benefit of a private garden with great views towards the Menai Straits and out over the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia).

Set on one floor, the cottage has a central open plan living room flanked by two ensuite bedrooms. High vaulted ceilings, accompanied by floor to ceiling windows which look absolutely stunning in the living room. With the addition of a log fire, this central space is both bright and welcoming at the same time. The decor is clean and modern with splashes of colour and vintage inspired pieces throughout the property. It all comes together giving a really lovely cosy feel whilst remaining fresh and vibrant.

The kitchen has everything you will need to cater for your group and is furnished with modern kitchen units and high spec appliances. The dining area is a move from the modern kitchen look with a vintage-inspired set of chairs and table. The sitting area has modern sofas and chairs which are positioned perfectly to sit back and take in the wonderful views or to watch a film in the evening.

The two bedrooms lead off from the main room. Both are ensuites, there is a king size bed and twin. Both have been finished with lovely soft furnishings and lots of thought and care has gone into the decoration, making them very comfortable and inviting rooms - a good night's sleep will be had by all!

The old pigsty next to the house has been converted into a useful boot room for guest use. It has a sink and a washing machine as well as an outside wash area. Perfect for hosing down those sandy toes and flip flops.

Situated on the south western tip of Anglesey, the stunning Newborough Warren forestry and Llanddwyn beach is a fantastic place to be. Home to the famous Llanddwyn Bay and Twr Mawr lighthouse, the beach itself is wide and open and a great place for swimming and watersports. The neighbouring forest has a number of walking and cycling trails running through. Perfect for days out whatever the weather.

By the cottage, there is lots of open space including a paddock immediately in front. The private patio to the front of the property is a great place to sit back and take in all the views - it will certainly be a place to relax in the evening having dinner with a glass of wine in the summer evenings.

There are plenty of walking and cycling options from the cottage so if you have bikes, be sure to bring them with you. Anglesey has lots to offer. It is of course home to the village with the longest name: LLANFAIRPWLLGWYNGYLLGOGERYCHWYRNDROBWLLLLANTYSILIOGOGOGOCH (Llanfair PG to the locals) It’s always great to go and get your photo op in front of the station sign!

Beaumaris Castle is a must to see - part of Edward I’s ring of fortresses, which included Caernarfon, Harlech and Conwy, it is said to be the most technically perfect castle. It is now a world heritage site.

There are 5 lighthouses on Anglesey and South Stack on the north west coast is probably the most famous as it is still in use and once you’ve gone down the 365 stairs to get to it, you can go inside and see how it works.

The Rib Rides along the Menai Straits is very popular - going along at high speeds is great fun - there are various different trips you can take. The skippers are very informative on the great history of the area and what you can see.

Other great things to do include a visit to Plas Newydd, Plas Cadnant, Pili Palas Butterfly Farm, Anglesey Sea Zoo and the Anglesey Race Circuit.

There are great restaurants and cafes across the island giving you a great choice of options. You are also only 30 mins away from other towns including Caernarfon and Bangor.

Additional Information

Google Map Directions

From the Britannia Bridge – the A55 will bring you onto the island of Anglesey. Exit at Junct 7. Turn Left at T junction. Straight over mini roundabout. Second exit at roundabout – Gaerwen village. Drive through village, passing the industrial estate on your left. As you drop downhill you will approach a sweeping right hand bend with a turning to your left directing you onto the B4419 for Newborough. Take the turning and follow this road to the village of Llangaffo. Driving through the village, continue past the village store on your right. Continue up the gradient and out of the village 30mph area. Upon leaving the village, 200m ahead is the white gable end of a terrace of cottages with a left turn just before. (You now have Two Options) either:

ROUTE A (Limited Passing Places but nice views)

Turn Left here. Pass a farm entrance on your left continue along the single track road for exactly of a ¾ mile. ( please do not be tempted to use the grass verges – there are water ditches alongside!) TY CHI is then the first entrance on the left. Please leave all gates as you find them – dog owners please SHUT gates for your dogs safety. Drive past the barns on the left and TY CHI cottage will then be on your left. Easy parking to unload next to the snicket gate. Ample parking in the ‘gas tank ‘ yard.

ROUTE B

Instead of turning just outside the village, carry straight on along main road for approx three quarters of a mile until you see the Anglesey. Transport Museum (Tacla Taid) on your left. Take the first (or second) turning left immediately after Museum. Carry straight on until you see black and white hazard bollards on your right. Turn left immediately adjacent to bollards. Continue along the lane to the first bend, go round the bend and Ty Chi is on your right and entry to the cottage is via the splayed concrete entrance which is the second driveway.

(Please do not use the closed gated entrance between the stone buildings.)

The name Tŷ Chi is on the wooden rails. Please leave all gates as you find them – dog owners please SHUT gates for your dogs safety. Drive past the barns on the left and the cottage will then be on your left. Easy parking to unload next to the snicket gate. Ample parking in the 'gas tank’ yard. If you are coming to Tŷ CHI from Ireland. Off the Ferry at Holyhead and onto the A55 South – well signposted. Travel South to Junction 7 then follow above directions.

Please note – we do not have facilities for electric car charging and do not allow any form of charging on site.
