Bryndaron is a lovely and modern three bedroom holiday cottage near Aberdaron. Beautifully finished, sea views and plenty of outdoor space with a hot tub make it a perfect base to explore the beautiful Pen Llyn.
The holiday cottage itself is the front half of a larger property but the well thought out layout and private garden space creates a private and independent feel to the cottage.
Starting downstairs on the ground floor it is a semi open plan lay out with heated underfloor slate tiles throughout. The kitchen is very modern and clean and has everything you will need to cater for your group here.
The sitting room is just around the corner but is still the same room. Again simple furnishings all warmed up with a log burner. Brown leather sofa’s and oak furniture work well against the slate floor. The glass patio doors offering incredible views out towards Ynys Enlli (Bardsey island) also ensure the room gets lots of light.
There is one double bedroom on this floor - very light and spacious with the simple and modern interiors following through as with the rest of the downstairs. There is a family bathroom with a shower over bath set up.
Upstairs are two bedrooms; one sleeps three and the other two. Slightly warmer up here with carpets throughout and Victorian style beds. All very light and spacious and incredible views of the sea beyond.
The house is located just outside Rhiw which is a small village on the South West tip of the Pen Llyn and is 100 meters from the Wales Coast Path, and also the local coastal bus route. 15 minutes drive from Abersoch and 10 minutes from Aberdaron.
In Rhiw itself, there is a manor house (Plas Rhiw) dating back to the 10th Century which is now owned by the National Trust - the organic garden is the only one owned by the National Trust. Porth Ysgo is the local beach which is beautiful and secluded and has a waterfall that cascades onto the beach itself...
Aberdaron, 10 minutes away is the nearest place to get all your local supplies and is a lovely coastal village and where you can get a boat over to the famous Bardsey Island. A couple of nice pubs and bakeries make this a lovely place to visit. Abersoch, 15 minutes away is where you will find a good selection of cafes, restaurants and shops along with lots of watersports and of course Hell’s Mouth which is the surfing spot of the area. You can also take part in Marine Safari’s and fishing trips.
The Pen Llyn has a lot going on. Glaslyn Parc is where you can go wakeboarding, karting and bowling along with lots of other family activities. The Marina in Pwllheli is a great place for sailing and Plas Glyn Y Weddw is a fab art gallery situated just up from the beach in Llanbedrog with the great Aqua Beach Bar on the beach itself.
The Ty Coch in Porthdinllaen, voted one of the best pubs in the world is about a 25 minute drive away.
Further East, you’ll enter Eryri (Snowdonia). There is Portmeirion, the beautiful Italian Village based on the coast. Wyddfa (Snowdon) is just over an hour away, there are many Castles to visit which are classed as world heritage sites. Last but not least are Zip World and the National Whitewater Centre which are all huge attractions to the area.
