Traditional farmhouse accommodation in one of the most beautiful valleys in Eryri. Bryn-Weirglodd offers a great combination of 5 star self catering set in a faultless tranquil location. Beautifully appointed bedrooms and comfortable living areas compliment a setting where walkers can head off straight from the front door whist beach lovers only have a short 10 minute drive down to the seaside villages of Criccieth or Porthmadog.

The large living room offers the best views of the surrounding area perhaps. The ubiquitous welsh mountain sheep graze in the foreground whilst the rolling hills of the valley frame your view down to the coast. Plenty of space and seating for a family get together and a lovely log fire to warm you in the evenings.

Next door we have a traditional country kitchen diner. Lots of modern appliances including a washing machine and a large fridge freezer as well as a handsome oak dining table and chairs. Again plenty of space and seating for the whole family. Finally on the ground floor we have a large twin bedroom. Actually, I’m wrong, this room has the best view from the large patio doors that lead out onto the garden. The en-suite bathroom in here is fully accessible and suitable for wheelchair users – in fact this holiday cottage is ideal if anyone in your party has a disability or any mobility issues. Which is great news as we don’t have enough properties which are wheelchair friendly.

Upstairs we have three more bedrooms. Two double rooms and one twin room. No, these bedrooms have the best view. I think. You tell me when you get there. There’s a nice family bathroom up here with a powerful modern shower over a bath.

Keen walkers may already be familiar with Cwmysdradllyn and Cwm Pennant they will bear testament to the fact that there really is no exaggeration when people describe these valleys as the most beautiful in Wales. An un-spoilt wilderness of towering peaks interweaved by crystal clear rivers and streams.

As well as the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia) the farmhouse is also ideally suited to explore the seaside villages of the Pen Llyn (Llyn Peninsula). Criccieth, 3 miles away, is one of those hidden gems of the North Wales coastline. It has, of course, its world famous ‘Cadwaladers’ ice cream and the usual cafés and fish and chip shops but, for a small village, it boast’s some really quite nice restaurants. The ever popular market town of Pwllheli and fashionable Abersoch are a little further along the coast. The nearest town with supermarket etc is Porthmadog, some 5 miles away.

Popular activities in the area include fishing, golf and pony trekking as well as the more extreme mountain biking, white water rafting and gorge walking.
